growthdata.dev Terms of Service
Effective date: October 31, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Teammate Ventures LLC ("we", "us") for your use of growthdata.dev, its REST API, its MCP server, and the sign-in service at auth.growthdata.dev (together, "the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use it for a company, you agree for that company and confirm you can do so.
1. The Service
growthdata provides company data, including company profiles, growth timelines, annotations, and watches for company domains, through an API and an MCP server that AI assistants can use. Data comes from third-party data providers and publicly available sources. Features may change or be removed.
2. Accounts
You sign in with Google, GitHub, or (when available) Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account and org, including activity by apps and AI assistants you connect. Keep your sign-in accounts secure.
3. API keys and rate limits
- API keys are confidential. Do not share them, put them in public code, or embed them in client-side apps. We store only a hash of each key, so we cannot recover a lost key. We can issue a new one.
- You are responsible for all use of your keys and of tokens issued to apps you connect. Tell us right away if a key may be exposed, and we will revoke it.
- We apply rate limits and daily usage caps to keep the Service reliable. Limits depend on your plan and are shown in our docs or your dashboard. We may change them. Do not try to get around them, for example by creating extra accounts.
4. Credits and payment
The Service is paid for with credits. Each task (for example, a company lookup or a watch refresh) uses credits.
- Free starter credits. New accounts may get free starter credits. The amount and when they expire are shown at signup, and these may change over time.
- Buying credits. You can buy credits, with a minimum purchase of $25. Prices are shown before you buy.
- Cost per task. How many credits a task uses depends on things like the data resolution and freshness you ask for. The cost is shown in our docs or returned with the result.
- Watches. A watch uses credits each time it refreshes. You can cancel a watch at any time, and it stops using credits from the next cycle.
- Payment. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, and its terms also apply. You authorize us and the processor to charge your payment method for credits you buy. Prices do not include taxes unless stated; you are responsible for applicable taxes.
- Refunds. Credit purchases are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund.
- Expiry. Unused purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase.
- No cash value. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for money, except where the law requires.
- Price changes. We may change credit prices or task costs. We will give advance notice, and changes do not affect credits you have already bought.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or anyone's rights while using the Service, or use its data for unlawful discrimination, harassment, or surveillance of individuals;
- probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the Service, or get around security, authentication, rate limits, or credit caps;
- access the Service other than through our documented API, MCP server, and sign-in flows;
- use the Service or its data to offer a substitute for, or a competitor to, growthdata, such as a company-data API or dataset;
- bulk-export, resell, or redistribute raw data from the Service as a standalone dataset;
- misrepresent where the data came from or imply that we endorse you;
- send us malware or content you don't have the right to send.
You are welcome to build apps, products, and services on top of growthdata data, and to show results from the Service to your own end users, as long as you don't offer a competing company-data API or dataset, or redistribute raw data as a standalone dataset.
We may suspend access that we reasonably believe breaks these rules or puts the Service or others at risk.
6. Data is provided as-is
Company data may be incomplete, out of date, estimated, or wrong. Fields are labeled as observed, calculated, inferred, estimated, or unavailable, and estimates are only estimates. Do not rely on the data alone for investment, financial, legal, employment, credit, or other important decisions. Data from third-party sources may also be subject to those sources' own terms.
THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$100.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
8. Your responsibility to us
If your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms, leads to a claim against us by someone else, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent allowed by law.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access at any time, with or without notice, including if you break these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. When access ends, your API keys and connected-app tokens stop working. Sections 4 (no cash value), 6, 7, 8, and 11 continue after termination.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will give notice on this page or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Sedgwick County, Kansas. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
